The US delegation, including former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, today met at the residence of Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama in Mcleodganj, Himachal Pradesh.

After meeting the Dalai Lama, the US delegation participated in a cultural program organized by the Tibetan government in exile at the Dalai Lama Temple. On this occasion, former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that President Joe Biden will soon sign a bill aimed to stress China to resolve the Tibet dispute. The Resolve Tibet Act calls on Beijing to resume talks with Tibetan leaders that have been stalled since 2010. She said that through this their governance-related differences with China can be resolved peacefully. Nancy also said that while the bill aims to find a negotiated settlement between the two countries regarding Tibet, it also urged China to address the wishes of the Tibetan people related to their historical, cultural, religious and linguistic identity. This 7-member American delegation will be present in Dharamshala for about two days
