External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Foreign Affairs of Chile Alberto van Klaveren are co-chairing the second India-Chile Joint Commission Meeting in New Delhi. In his opening remark during the meeting, Dr. Jaishankar thanked Chile for extending support for India’s permanent membership in the expanded Security Council. He also said, India values the participation of Chile in the Global South Summit. Foreign Minister of Chile Alberto van Klaveren arrived in New Delhi yesterday. During his India’s visit, Mr. Klaveren will also participate in Chile⁠-India Business (Agriculture) Summit and later proceed to Mumbai. Chile is a key partner of India in the Latin American region. According to the External Affairs Ministry, the visit of Minister Klaveren provides an opportunity to review the progress in bilateral relations and explore new avenues for cooperation, further strengthening bilateral ties.
