The Tagansky District Court in Moscow has fined TikTok 3 million rubles ($28,600) for refusing to remove prohibited content, the court told RIA Novosti on Friday.

“By the court’s ruling, Tik Tok Pte. Ltd has been found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses (Violation of the procedure for restricting access to information, information resources, and (or) deleting information that must be restricted in accordance with Russian legislation on information, information technology, and information protection),” the court stated.

As a result, the court imposed an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of 3 million rubles.
