India and Indonesia exchanged agreements in the fields of Health Cooperation, Traditional Medicine, Maritime Safety and Security, Cultural Exchange and Digital Development. Third India-Indonesia CEO forum’s report was also presented.    

In his press statement after holding bilateral and delegation level talks with President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto in New Delhi on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, there were extensive discussions with President Prabowo on various aspects of mutual cooperation.

He said, during his visit to Indonesia in 2018, both sides transformed the partnership into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Mr Modi said, to enhance cooperation in the defence sector, India and Indonesia have decided to work together in Defence Manufacturing and Supply Chain. He said, both nations have also emphasised on cooperation in Maritime Security, Cyber ​​Security, Counter-Terrorism and De-Radicalisation.

The Prime Minister said, both sides have decided to further strengthen mutual cooperation in areas such as FinTech, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Digital Public Infrastructure. He said, India is sharing its experiences in sectors of Health and Food Security, such as the Mid-Day Meal Scheme and Public Distribution System, with Indonesia.

Mr Modi said, the relations between India and Indonesia are thousands of years old. He said, the tales inspired by the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, and the ‘Bali Jatra’, are living testimony to the unending cultural and historical ties between the people of both countries. The Prime Minister highlighted that Indonesia is India’s important partner in the ASEAN and Indo-Pacific region and both nations are committed to maintaining peace, security, prosperity and rules-based order in this entire region.

President Subianto expressed gratitude for the great honour given to him in his first State Visit to India. He said, they discussed many key sectors of common interest in which both sides will like to accelerate the level of cooperation.
