Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that as the nation pays tribute to Baba Saheb, his ideals continue to guide the very soul of the government. Addressing a public meeting in Hisar in Haryana today, Mr. Modi said, for the past 11 years, Babasaheb’s life, his struggle and his timeless message have been the cornerstone of the government’s journey. Mr Modi said, each day, every decision taken, and every policy framed is a humble step in the direction shown by Dr. Ambedkar, which is a path of justice, inclusion, and dignity for all. The Prime Minister said, from the oppressed to the deprived, from tribals to women, from the poor to the marginalized his government’s every effort is aimed at bringing transformation in their lives and turning their aspirations into reality. Paying homage to Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Prime Ministersaid his birth anniversary is like a “Diwali” for Dalits, the marginalised and backward communities. The Prime Minister said, working in line with the Babasaheb’s mantra, flights have started from Shri Krishna’s land to Lord Ram’s Ayodhya.” Mr. Modi said he is proud that Haryana is working with seriousness towards fulfilling the resolve of Viksit Bharat. He defended recent changes to the Waqf law, stating they would benefit poor Muslims and protect tribal lands. The Prime Minister said discussions on the Waqf law began after several Muslim widows wrote to the government. He said that recent changes will stop the exploitation and Poor Muslims and backward Muslims will get their rights.
Earlier, Prime Minister flagged off commercial flight from Hisar to Ayodhya and laid the foundation stone of the terminal-2 building at the Hisar airport today. The new terminal project, valued at over Rs 410 crore, will feature a modern passenger terminal, a dedicated cargo facility, and an air traffic control building. Prime Minister said, before 2014, India had just 74 airports and this number has now crossed the 150. He also highlighted the success of the Centre’s UDAN scheme, which has enabled thousands of Indians to fly for the first time.
Speaking on the occasion, the Haryan Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said, the launch of air services will greatly enhance regional trade, tourism and investment opportunities.
Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of development projects including 800 MW power unit of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant, Compressed Biogas Plant in Mukarabpur and over 14 km Rewari Bypass project under Bharatmala Project, at the cost of over one thousand crore rupees.
