Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has appreciated the performance of Security Printing and Minting Corporation Of India Limited in the last few years and its progress is very inclusive. Addressing the Foundation Day celebrations of Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd -SPMCIL through virtual mode, the Minister hailed the corporate social responsibility work of the Corporation in some aspirational districts of Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
She suggested the organisation to move forward keeping in mind the vision of digital India and a developed India by 2047. She added that the the Core strengths of the Organisation are manufacturing of bank notes, circulation and commemorative coins as well as security products like passport, non-judicial stamp and postal stamp. She added that SPMCIL is most privileged Organisation for producing the country’s highest awards like the Bharat Ratna, Padma Awards and Param Vir Chakra.
