Connectivity is central theme of partnership between India-Sri Lanka

High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha has said that Connectivity is the central theme of the partnership between India and Sri Lanka. Speaking at the South Asian Tourism Leadership Forum in Colombo, Mr. Jha said that  India’s digital growth has been the most significant one and Sri Lanka needs to work on integrating into the digital space. He added that India has been the biggest contributor towards Sri Lankan Tourism and that over 250 flights operate between India and Sri Lanka every week. He mentioned that the ties between the two countries have existed for millennia while adding that the two countries have been civilisational twins. He recounted the recent assistance provided by India and added that India’s assistance to Sri Lanka has been unconditional without expecting anything in return.

The Sri Lanka Design Festival organised the South Asian Tourism Leadership Forum in Colombo with India as a Partner country. The event provided travel and tourism professionals with a dynamic platform to network and explore new business opportunities in the southern Asian region. The event witnessed discussions in an informal setting, encouraging collaborations that support long-term industry growth with a focus on the luxury segment.
