External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today highlighted that its important for the European Union to prepare for the India that is to come. Speaking at the second CII-India Europe Business and Sustainability Conclave in Delhi, Dr Jaishankar stated that India has a GDP of about 3.75 trillion dollars which will be 7.3 trillion dollars at the end of the decade. He exuded confidence that India will be a 30 trillion dollar economy by the time it is at its 100th year of Independence.
The External Affairs Minister pointed out that India is going to be an increasingly significant economy, the third largest by the end of this decade and the second largest by 2075.
The Minister stressed that India-EU trade levels have been growing steadily and there is a need for a positive framework for trade to accelerate. He pointed out that in 2022, the trade was about 120 billion Euros in terms of goods. He also added that services trade has been growing very robustly at about 30 percent.
