External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar stressed the need to build deep national strengths during the Amrit Kaal that will drive the transition towards a developed economy and a leading power.

Addressing the inaugural session of the Asia Economic Dialogue 2024 virtually on Thursday, the Minister highlighted that this is the vision of the Narendra Modi Government.

Dr Jaishankar stressed greater international cooperation to create a more safe, secure and cooperative world. He said only this can mitigate unilateral demands, economic domination, and technology assertions. The Minister said it requires a massive upgrade of the skills base and an environment that promotes Start-Ups and talent. He said it also demands robust manufacturing that can provide the foundation for technology development.
