Union Labour and Employment Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has said, India has improved the ease of doing business by attracting Foreign Direct Investment from multinational corporations. Dr Mandaviya said this after inaugurating the two-day International Seminar on Formalization and Social Security Coverage for Workers in the Informal Sector in New Delhi. He highlighted that social security for workers without any kind of discrimination is the priority of the government. The Minister informed that around 60 crore people come under the health security schemes of the government and get free medical treatment of up to five lakh rupees. Dr Mandaviya mentioned that around 5 kilograms of food grains are given to the people so that no one gets deprived of basic food.

Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, Labour and Employment Secretary, Sumita Dawra spoke about how the seminar delves into the prospect of bringing India’s 600 million workforce under the various provisions of social security.
