India sent humanitarian assistance for the people of Papua new Guinea as a special charter flight carrying relief supplies took off for Port Moresby. A relief assistance of one million dollars was announced by India for the volcanic eruption-affected people of Papua New Guinea. MEA Spokesperson.
Arindam Bagchi said, the supplies include approximately 11 tonnes of disaster relief material and six tonnes of medical aid. The disaster relief material comprises of tents, sleeping mats, hygiene kits, meals ready to eat and water storage tanks. It also has medical aid includes essential medicines, surgical items, sanitary pads, rapid antigen test kits, pregnancy test kits, mosquito repellents and baby food among others.
