Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held talks with the President of the National University of Singapore, Professor Tan Eng Chye, during his visit to the university. In a social media post, Mr. Pradhan said the discussion focused on leveraging complementary strengths to build knowledge bridges and strengthen academic and research collaborations between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Indian higher education institutions (HEIs). The talks also aimed to deepen engagements between the two countries across all academic fronts. He noted that NUS and Indian HEIs could collaborate to create value in areas such as deep tech start-ups, medical and health sciences, advanced materials, digitalization, and sustainability, among others. He also highlighted that enhancing access to quality higher education for India’s youth and the internationalization of India’s education system are key focus areas of NEP 2020.
