The Indian Navy will conduct the 4th edition of the Coastal Defence Exercise ‘Sea-Vigil-24’ from the 21st to the 22nd of this month. The two-day exercise will span both in terms of geographical reach and the magnitude of participation, involving six ministries and 21 organizations and agencies. The exercise will focus on strengthening the security of coastal assets like ports, oil rigs, single-point moorings, cable landing points, and critical coastal infrastructure, including the coastal population. This year, the Indian Army and the Air Force will also participate in the event. Sea Vigil was originally conceptualized in 2018 to validate and enhance measures adopted to bolster coastal defence.
