INS Parundu in Rameswaram welcomed over 800 students and staff from ten schools and colleges across the district of Ramanathapuram as part of the Navy Day celebrations.

The two-day event inspired the young minds to explore careers in the Defence Forces. The visit featured demonstrations by the Dog Squad and showcased exhibits on medical services, gunnery, meteorology, air traffic control and safety equipment.

Students also witnessed aerial training sorties up close and interacted with Naval personnel from various disciplines. The event also had a live question and answer session which allowed students to inquire about the process of joining the Armed Forces.

The outreach initiative was aimed to inspire the next generation and deepen their understanding of the Navy’s vital role in National Security. The Commanding Officer of INS Parundu Captain Arjun Menon presented school representatives with a Navy brochure and a calendar. Pamphlets on career opportunities in the Navy were given as mementos to the Children.
