Israel’s national security cabinet will meet today to discuss the ceasefire possibilities in its ongoing war against the Palestinian militant outfit, Hamas. The meeting will be held at the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) headquarters in Tel Aviv.

Recently, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that Israel has accepted the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Philadelphi Corridor, a key border area between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has denied that he agreed to withdraw military forces from the Gaza-Egypt border.
The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, was in West Asia for a 3-day official visit. Blinken had a series of meetings with top Israeli leadership, including President Issac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He also met the President of Egypt.
