Nepal experienced a notable influx of foreign tourists in July 2024, with a total of 64,599 arrivals. This figure includes nearly 21,500 visitors from India, marking an 11.91% increase from the same period last year, though still falling short of pre-Covid-19 numbers.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, Indian tourists constituted the largest group arriving by air, followed by visitors from the USA and China. From January to July 2024, 647,615 tourists visited Nepal via air route, compared to 57,726 in the same period of the previous year.

While the numbers are still not at pre-pandemic levels, reaching 91.09% of the July 2019 figures, officials are optimistic. They anticipate the total number of tourist arrivals to exceed one million by the end of 2024.
