Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today held a pre-budget consultation with representatives from farmer associations and agriculture economists in New Delhi ahead of the forthcoming General Budget. The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, Finance Secretary T.V. Somanathan, Chief Economic Adviser, V. Anantha Nageswaran, Secretary Department of Economic Affairs and senior officers from the Agriculture Ministry.

Earlier, the Finance Minister had pre-budget meetings with leading experts in the financial and capital markets sector, industry leaders and associations as well as with leading economists.
