PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping bilateral meeting begins

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia. It assumes significance in the backdrop of the two countries arriving at an agreement on patrolling arrangements in areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The meeting between Prime Minister Modi and the Chinese President is the first structured meeting in the last five years.
