In Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off six Vande Bharat Trains today through video conferencing. Out of which two new Vande Bharat services will be dealt with by Southern Railway, namely, Coimbatore Jn – Bengaluru Cantonment – Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express and Mangaluru Central – Madgaon – Mangaluru Central Vande Bharat Express services.

The new Coimbatore-Bengaluru Vande Bharat train will become the fastest train service in the Bengaluru- Coimbatore sector covering the distance of 380 Kms in 6 hours 20 minutes between Coimbatore-Bengaluru Cantt and in 6 hours 30 minutes in the return direction.

Tamil Nadu will get its fifth Vande Bharat service with the introduction of Coimbatore – Bengaluru Cantt. Vande Bharat Express. This new Vande Bharat Express connects Coimbatore, known as the ‘Manchester of South India,’ with the cosmopolitan city of Bengaluru. It marks the second Vande Bharat train linking Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, complementing the successful Chennai – Mysuru Vande Bharat service that has been operational since November 2022.”

The new Vande Bharat will offer benefits to students, IT professionals, and business-class travellers, particularly those from the textile hubs in and around Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur. Additionally, it will cater to the needs of industrial units in Dharmapuri and Hosur, along with supporting the IT hubs within Bengaluru city.
