The UAE has established itself as a global leader in the new economy according to a recent report by the Statistical Centre for the GCC (GCC-Stat) commemorating the nation’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad(National Day). The report highlights the UAE’s achievements across multiple sectors and its commitment to sustainable development.

The country has secured several top global rankings in 2024, including first place in Global Trade Indicators and Maritime Protection/Wastewater Reuse/Net Carbon Flows, as well as leading positions in Competitiveness in Green Hydrogen Production. The UAE also ranks fourth globally in Economic Performance and leads the Arab world in Human Development, Education Systems, and Gender Equality indices.

GCC-Stat emphasizes the UAE’s success in meeting Sustainable Development Goals through high rates of supervised medical care, universal access to basic services, and comprehensive civil registration systems. The nation’s forward-looking governance model supports technological advancement, human rights, and infrastructure development.

The ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision underlies these achievements, reflecting the country’s commitment to sustainable growth and prosperity. The report underscores the UAE’s role as a global force for environmental sustainability and international cooperation.
